1, Generally the gears of a planetary gearbox are related to the reduction ratio.
The larger the reduction ratio the more gears.
2, Now quoting the reduction ratio argument, generally the gears of L1 consist of a sun wheel in the center, and three planetary wheels around the periphery. l2 is just an extra planetary carrier on top of L1, and then loaded with three planetary wheels. So L2 is just made up of six gears.
